Autumn has some of the best riding – not too hot like summer, not too volatile like spring, and not too wet (or cold in the hills) like winter. It’s juuuust right.
And 2012 was a ripper, with the Track Worlds in town. Cam Meyer nearly gave everyone a heart attack before winning the points race in stunning style, while Anna Meares surfed a week of mind games and disappointment to rule the keirin and Sir Chris Hoy dipped into the final bend to take the men’s version. It doesn’t get any better. And all that was followed by evenings with the Giro and mornings with Tour of California coverage. I’m sad to see it go:
The only upside is that it’s nearly cyclocross and Melburn Roobaix time!
